Presentación PRecycling 2.jpg

The PRecycling project was presented at Plastics & Rubber 2026 by Ana Ibáñez from AIJU, during the technical conference ‘Megatrends in the Plastics Sector’, held during Plastics & Rubber Spain and organised by AVEP – Asociación Valenciana de Empresas del Plástico. The session brought together around 70 professionals from the plastics and rubber industries.

In her presentation, Ana Ibáñez focused on the challenges associated with recycled and recovered materials within R&D projects. She highlighted the lack of traceability due to the inhomogeneity of collected waste, addressing both closed and open-loop systems, as well as the different model waste streams used in the project, including toys, textiles, and household appliances. She also shared key findings related to mechanical properties.

Additionally, Ana referred to the requirements for chemical cleaning processes and the challenges related to colouring, particularly in the toy sector. Overall, she emphasised the lack of adequate collection infrastructures and the impact of consumer perception.

The conference addressed key topics such as advanced recycling, new materials, and processing challenges.
