PRecycling Project Presented by AIJU at Eco Chemical Solutions and Ecofira 2025 in València
València, Tuesday, November 11, 2025 — The PRecycling Project was featured during the Eco Chemical Solutions event and Ecofira 2025, both held concurrently in Valencia, Spain. The PRecycling consortium member AIJU actively participated in both spaces, contributing technical insights and highlighting key challenges related to plastics recycling and the circular economy. The PRecycling project was also showcased at both events by AIJU.
📍PRecycling at Eco Chemical Solutions 2025
At the Eco Chemical Solutions Framework event, PhD Ana Ibáñez, Project Manager at AIJU, delivered the technical presentation ''Challenges in the processing of recycled/recovered materials. Challenges identified in R&D projects''.
During her intervention, Ana highlighted the lack of traceability of waste and the non-homogeneity of current waste streams. She also presented the plastic composition of the three sectors addressed by the PRecycling project.
Dr. Ana Ibáñez went on to explain the three methodologies followed within the PRecycling project, as well as the characterisations applied for the homogenisation of waste and its consideration within the Open and Closed Loop. She also addressed the loss of mechanical properties observed in the different sectors analysed, the issue of restricted chemicals, and the CreaSolv® and supercritical cleaning methodologies, outlining their advantages and disadvantages.
Additionally, she noted the colouring difficulties, the lack of collection infrastructure, and the influence of consumer perception.

📍PRecycling At Ecofira 2025
Ecofira 2025, a key event for environmental innovation, brought together more than 8,000 visitors and 350 firms, consolidating its position as a reference event for organisations committed to advanced environmental management and circularity.
As part of the fair’s programme, Joaquín Vilaplana from AIJU participated in the round table “Technological solutions for a more sustainable world.” This session provided a space where experts analysed major environmental challenges and explored technological solutions driving the circular economy across strategic industrial sectors. PRecycling was also showcased during this activity.
